Longline Freezer Vessel -60 Refrigeration |
|
TAG Marine project 2023/4
I purchased the vessel in April 2023 and prepared her under contract for operations in East Africa. Over the last year, the ship has been completely rebuilt. The client failed to meet their obligations, so I have put her on the market for sale.
The vessel can be used in multiple roles, such as fishing, research, reefer, utility, guard, chase boat, or live-onboard, with good range and low fuel burn. As a fishing vessel, she is fully equipped with gear stowed for large pelagic fish. Fishing gear can be changed to suit the fishery and its permits.
All major equipment, including both auxiliary engines, has been overhauled. Machinery room equipment, including Mycom compressors, has been serviced and is functioning well. The agents will commission the refrigeration system before sailing and making final preparations under new client requirements.
Our chief engineer and crew kept the vessel warm with a weekly startup and running of systems.
I have stripped out the accommodation spaces, repaired and replaced them to their original teak throughout the wheelhouse, officers and crew mess while fresh paint throughout the crew cabins. The galley can be upgraded and fitted out. Officers and crew amenities upgraded to western type.
All Electronic and navigation equipment was checked and repaired. 220v electrical emergency and standby power is parallel with 110v and 24v systems. All new electrical wiring and lighting were installed throughout the vessel.
The vessel is a steel-hulled fishing vessel with two decks, a cruiser stem, six bulkheads and three masts.
The superstructure is fitted amidships; the forecastle is enclosed; there is a shelter deck on the working deck aft of the accommodation; five holds below the main deck with four blast freezers on the main deck below the wheelhouse, and the engine room is below the main deck with accommodations.

Desalination - Reverse Osmosis - Fresh Water - Barge ex-US Navy |
|
Ex US Navy Floating Freshwater Maker
The barge was built for the US army and was kept as a standby RO system in case US Army requested her operation. The barge was never used and all equipment was preserved and labelled with date. The Membranes that came with the unit are all still in plastic and stored.
This barge has the capability of producing 300,000 gallons of drinking water at 24hr. period and due to its 4 point mooring system sea conditions does not exceed Sea state 3. Barge cannot operate where water depth is less than 15 feet at low tide. This level of water production is based on optimum environmental and optional conditions. The ROWPU system has two identical units, ROWPU 1 and ROWPU 2, that can be run independently and can produce 150,000 gallons per 24 Hr.
These Units were designed to run process feed water (sea salt water or brackish water from river or lake) into two products; brine water or dirty water that is dumped overboard and highly filtered non-salt water which can also be stored on board barge in 4 tanks that hand hold a total capacity 15,000 gals. The Barge complies with WHO guidelines according to field quality of water and salinity and was built to reject 98% salinity.
Manufactured in USA 1985 acc US Navy standards - unused
Dims 36.57 x 10.05 x 3.2 m - draft 1.52 m
Non propelled
Fitted 4 point mooring with hydraulic winches and anchors
Delivery Hose 762 m
1 x Chlorine Manufacturing plant
Aux Engines
2 x Caterpillar with 155 kW generators
Pump engines 2 x Caterpillar 250 hp
2 x new Caterpillar spare engines
The workshop, crew accommodation
This barge can:
- make freshwater out of seawater
- purify dirty water to freshwater
Two separate (can work individually) reverse osmosis water purification units that filter and desalt sea water with an installed chlorination system
Total capacity freshwater making 1.353 tons per 24 hours
Costs of freshwater when the barge operational about USD 3,- per metric ton excluding crew ( approx 3 crewmembers needed ) |
