Project 31 Cruiser FINAL REDUCTION: Get your hands on this part professionally restored classic cruiser complete with most items required to finish. The story began on Newport Street in Plymouth in 1965. It was here that ex-Naval officer David King and two friends started a company called Marine Projects. Their first model, which was named Project 31, was built on the hull of a Senior 31 and fitted out in a rented shed. From such humble beginnings, Marine Projects made huge advances. Over 150 Project 31 yacht models were sold in the following four years and have therefore become the initial success story behind the 1969 launch of the Princess 32 – the first model to bear the name. She is on the market at a great price and the so don’t hang around get yourself a boat for the summer sun for £10,250! It is presently ashore in our workshop. Margaret Ham, although requiring some TLC offers a lot of scope, she benefits from some useful upgrades such as warm air heating, a major refit in 2021 which included the wheelhouse extension being refurbished, including new lockers, one of the two engines being extensively overhauled, two of the stern bulkheads were replaced. Indeed, the current spend with us on the refurbishment is over £17,000. Full details of work done available to a serious purchaser. Also included in the sale are 2 x new fuel tanks and two boxes of spares. The current owners are Ex Pats and have used Margaret Ham as their UK base for their holidays for several years. Unfortunately, the two-year Covid pandemic, resultant ban on travel and advancing years has made the owners re-evaluate their plans. They as a result have reluctantly taken the decision to sell Margaret Ham. Step on board, through the double doors to enter the spacious extended wheel house, which has newly installed seating and lockers. The dinette converts into a double bed. Then down a couple of steps into the galley and dinette area. Forward of which is a two-berth cabin. The upholstery is in very good condition

Birchwood 33 Classic - Ruth Louise This Classic Birchwood Classic 33ft cruiser is in superb condition. Everything needed to start or upgrade your boating life is there and ready to go. whilst the hull is from 1973 she was not registered until 19991. Very well looked after by all her owners, she was out fitted by Sirius Yachts to an extremely high standard in 1991. The quality of that work, still shines through today. The woodwork could have been installed yesterday and is matched by the current choice of upholstery and soft furnishings. Ruth Louise benefits GRP constructed planing hull with a well rounded forward section with a long flat V run aft with the ability to easily plane, giving a soft ride in brisk sea conditions. Fitted with inboard twin Bedford 150hp 6 cylinder engines driving twin propeller shafts. The hard covered helm/cockpit area is spacious, having ample stowage and comfortable seating for 6. There are two main adjustable Captains and Navigator armchairs with footrails. Ample safety grab rails are provided for anyone moving around. Then we have a galley with main oven, grill and hob, H/C sink and plenty of nooks to stow tea bags and gin. Opposite is a nice raised dinette area, again with cupboards galore all around and under. This converts into a further double berth. The V berth is set as two singles with individual lights. plenty of light throughout with the surround windows including some opening. Going aft through into the stateroom cabin, again down three stairs. A large fixed double bed with water tank under, a good dressing area and hand basin sit next to a drawer chest with a doored shelving space above. We also have a tall and deep hanging space as can be seen in the photographs. All round windows again this cabin sits below the poop deck. Externally there are good wide walkways all around, safety rails (some teak topped to aft), fender holders, boat hooks, cleats, anchor and power windlass. Diesel and water points are on the side gunnels. Coming with solar walk-on panels and almost everything required to just go boating. This stunning classic sea going river cruiser with aft cabin stateroom is a must see. The exterior is also in sound condition and showed no signs of any osmotic blistering when last insurance surveyed in 2020. Ruth Louise, for her age, is in remarkable condition with only a few minor repairs completed previously and a only a few more to do now. Naturally, for a 50 year old vessel, she would benefit from an exterior mop, rewaxing and UV seal. The sale is presented due the death of the main owner and the family reluctantly letting her go, hopefully as another family boat about to set out on new adventures.
