Description

Premier Houseboats are pleased to present William Ryan, the oldest Thames tug still in existence, thoughtfully and sympathetically converted to a characterful houseboat on a superb residential mooring at Standard Quay in Faversham.
William Ryan is fully insulated with plenty of windows offering lots of light. Entry to the boat, which is moored alongside the quay, is through what was the wheelhouse. A wooden staircase leads down to the main living area, a wonderful living area with an efficient multi fuel stove which provides most of the heating when required throughout the year. There is also a bespoke radiator in the living area, and another in the bathroom. This main living area incorporates lounge, dining area and fitted kitchen with plenty of work space and storage. The kitchen also has an LPG cooker, fridge freezer and dish washer. Above the kitchen area is a mezzanine sleeping area for guests.
A door leads back from the main living area to the utility area housing the LPG boiler and washing machine. from here a door leads to the bathroom, with free standing bath, separate shower, toilet and hand basin.
Forward from the main living area is a separate hand basin and WC, and the main bedroom, a good sized double again with plenty of storage.
Externally there is a good amount of usable with which to enjoy your incredible surroundings. Standard Quay is just a 10 minute walk from Faversham town centre, but also has its own restaurants, cafe and independent traders. There are stunning views of the Kent countryside, and plenty of parking spaces.
William Ryan has automatic bilge pumps, and an in the mud survey is available from 2023.
William Ryan offers characterful and spacious accommodation in beautiful surroundings, and is very much an affordable home in an otherwise expensive area. Offering the convenience of being close to the town centre, but without the noise and with stunning views, she is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy life afloat.
